When opening or closing the valve, the sealing face of the butterfly disc moves gradually and is pressed gradually against the sealing surface of the valve seat, thereby reducing mechanical wear and damage between the butterfly disc and the valve seat during opening or closing. For a double-axis butterfly valve, when the butterfly disc rotates from 0° to 8°–12°, the sealing face of the butterfly disc completely separates from the sealing face of the valve seat, thereby reducing mechanical wear and extrusion corner movement. By reducing mechanical wear and the abrasive effect of the flow during the opening or closing of the butterfly valve, the valve’s sealing performance and service life are significantly improved.
