Mixing Valves

Thermostatic mixing valves (blending) are used in domestic hot water distribution systems to maintain the mixed water at a constant temperature, compensating for fluctuations in the temperature of the hot water supplied by a solar system or a combi boiler.

Thermostatic mixing valves are used in domestic hot water distribution systems to maintain the mixed water at a constant temperature, despite fluctuations in the temperature of the hot water supplied by a solar system or combi boiler. They are used to ensure that the hot water is distributed at a maximum temperature of 48 °C (tolerance +5 °C). The adjustment ranges of the valves allow for the direct mixing of hot water produced by the combi boiler or solar system (instantaneous or storage type) with cold water from the mains (36–38 °C to the user) or, when used as mains water, to achieve higher values. They provide a consistent final mixing feature at domestic taps (42–50 °C).

The AV-20-40 limits and maintains the temperature level in solar-assisted heating applications. The thermostatic mixing valve has been developed specifically for solar applications to limit the outlet water temperature and ensure an adjustable outlet water temperature.

It provides a constant outlet water temperature. It consists of a thermostatic adjustment cartridge and a return spring. It features a design that allows the thermostatic adjustment cartridge to be replaced when necessary.
The ATLAS AV Solar thermostatic mixing valve features an external threaded connection. It maintains and limits the set outlet water temperature via the values indicated on the adjustment knob.
Once the ATLAS AV-20….40 has been set during the initial system installation, it automatically regulates and limits the system’s outlet water temperature. A check valve is available as an option.

Principle of Operation
TKV & Solar AV Operating Procedure

Automatic; regulates the hot and cold water supply proportionally using a thermostatic element

Safety (Anti-scald)

If the cold water supply is cut off, it prevents scalding by shutting off the hot water supply (thermal shut-off)

Adjustment Mechanism

Thermostatic adjustment cartridge and return spring (Replaceable cartridge)

Radiator Valve Operation

It automatically adjusts the radiator flow rate using a room temperature-sensitive liquid sensor
