Technology and Efficiency at İSKİ: Acceptance Tests and Technical Training for New Meters Completed
ISTANBUL — The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) completed another step in its work to improve service quality and modernise its technological infrastructure. General acceptance and testing of newly acquired water meters were successfully completed, alongside a comprehensive training programme for technical personnel.
Rigorous Testing Procedures
At the meeting held at İSKİ’s headquarters, the newly supplied meters were examined for compliance with international measurement standards. General acceptance tests checked measurement accuracy, pressure resistance and integration with remote reading systems in detail.
The meters approved by the expert committee are intended to help prevent water losses and leakage across Istanbul and support fairer billing.
Practical Training for Technical Personnel
Following acceptance, technical personnel responsible for field operations received capacity-building training covering:
- Installation and maintenance: correct installation techniques for the new devices.
- Fault detection: rapidly identifying potential technical problems using digital tools.
- Data management: accurately transferring smart meter data to the central system.
Uninterrupted, Smart Water Management
The closing discussions emphasised that these technological improvements represent more than equipment replacement: they form part of Istanbul’s smart city vision. Strengthening technical personnel’s capabilities is intended to minimise response times to field issues.
